Pukka was started in the UK in 2002 by co-founders Sebastian Pole and Tim Westwell with just three varieties of teas. Today, the brand has over 35 different varieties of organic herbal, green and black tea blends filled with delicious goodness from superior quality herbs.

Talking about the brand’s entry into India, Tim Westwell – Managing Director of Pukka Herbs said, “India has a very special place in our hearts. We have been heavily inspired by the philosophy of Ayurveda that has its roots in India.  ‘The art of living wisely’ is a mantra that is at the heart of everything we do at Pukka – from formulating teas to our choice of herbs, to the principles we adopt in managing our business. Sebastian and I founded Pukka to bring the incredible power of herbs into as many people’s life as possible. We chose the name ‘Pukka’ because of its meaning – top quality, authentic or genuine.”

To start with, Pukka brings for its discerning Indian consumers a range of their ten signature teas including Vanilla Chai, Peppermint & Licorice, Love, Three Ginger, Revitalise, Detox, Relax, Three Mint, Cleanse, and Night Time. The next few months will see many more flavours and blends being added to the collection.

Since its inception in the UK, the company has been working with Indian farmers to source the best quality organic herbs and spices, under strict quality controls. Pukka only uses medicinal grade herbs to optimize health and wellbeing.

Sebastian Pole, Co-founder and Herbal Director at Pukka Herbs further added, “Tea in India, like in the UK, is part of everyday life. It is an exciting time for the brand to launch in India with consumers becoming adventurous about experimenting with different tastes and flavours. Not all teas are the same and here at Pukka, our teas are full of powerful antioxidants with a unique twist provided by incredible organic herbs. Be it to detox, invigorate, refresh or calm, we have a special tea for every mood.”
