Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh has accepted Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation and sent it to the Governor of Punjab V P Singh Badnore for approval. An official spokesperson said, Captain Amarinder, who had been unwell for the last two days, since arrival from Delhi, saw the resignation letter this morning.

Former Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, who had not taken over the charge of new department since the portfolios were shuffled on 6th June, had resigned from the State Cabinet on 10th of June but sent his resignation to Rahul Gandhi. Later, he made public his resignation through social media after around 35 days and disclosed that he had sent his resignation to Chief Minister also.
