“HCL Foundation is happy to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week from Aug 1 to Aug 7. HCL Foundation, along with its NGO partner United Way and other stakeholders, is creating awareness about exclusive breastfeeding of newborn babies in rural and urban communities. The Foundation is also running a campaign reiterating the importance of a mother’s first milk – Colostrum – that has antibodies and helps develop strong immunity in a child. It is also being appealed to mothers to not devoid babies from it.
The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘To ensure enhanced participation and shared responsibility’. Along with the new mother, it is also the responsibility of the father and the entire family to take care of the newborn. In fact, the entire ecosystem around must ensure that the new mother and child get exclusive time and ease the exhaustion of new mothers. HCL Foundation encourages all employers, stakeholders, policymakers and family members to create an environment across personal and professional space helping mothers to enjoy their motherhood by providing the right kind of nutrients to the child enhancing IQ and EQ level of the newborns from an early stage.”
