  • West Bengal : Radio Misty 94.3 fm, the first and Number one fm station of North Bengal have teamed up with Siliguri food festival committee to organise the seventh Food and Tourism Festival that was held at Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri this week. This festival witnessed huge crowd from all over region. Various competitions were held during this event. This is the largest food festival of the region. This four day event was inaugurated by Member of Parliament suraj Pathak whereas closing ceremony was graced by West Bengal Urban Development Minister Asok Bhattacharya.

    Beside cooking competition there was Rasogolla and Momo eating competitions. A special feature of the competition was pitha (sweet)-making event. Participants from various parts of the country were invited to introduce ethnic cuisine here. Various self help groups also participated in this event. Stalls from Tourism sector was the major attraction in this event.

    Says Nishant Mittal, Chief Executive Officer, Radio Misty this food and tourism festival is major attraction for people here. People enjoy these festivals which have lot of cultural activities also. Radio Misty awarded winners of different competitions held here. This food festival has become a major attraction for tourists visiting this region.
