  • Rahul Dravid calls press conference in Bangalore tomorrow

    Bangalore : India’s star cricketer Rahul Dravid called a press conference in Bangalore tomorrow, prompting speculation that he may announce his retirement from international cricket. Though there has been no official word from him the speculation was fuelled by the fact that the BCCI president N Srinivasan will be present at the press conference.

    The 39-year-old Dravid has been playing International cricket r for over 15 years. He had announced his retirement from ODI cricket in England last year but there was surprise recall to the ODI team because of his stupendous performance during the Test series against England in which he scored three centuries.

    Dravid has played in 164 Test matches since making his debut against England at the Lord’s in 1996. He has scored13,288 runs with an impressive average of 52.31 and aggregates second only to Sachin Tendulkar who has 15470 runs in 188 Test matches. He took 210 catches, mostly in the slip cordon.
