    Published on July 12, 2019

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would appear in an Ahmedabad metro court today in connection with defamation against him.

The case was filed by the Chairman of Ahmedabad District Cooperative- ADC Bank- Ajay Patel against Mr. Gandhi for his remark, statements and social media posts about the alleged large-scale deposit of scrapped Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 notes in the ADC Bank, of which BJP president Amit Shah is a director.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has also been made accused in this case. The court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate had earlier examined the witnesses and observed that prima facie it appears to be a case of defamation.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi has confirmed that Rahul Gandhi would appear in Ahmedabad court today.

Our Ahmedabad correspondent reports that two other defamation cases against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are also being heard by other courts in Gujarat.
