New Delhi the ruling BJP has termed Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Gujarat to meet the Una incident victims’ family as political stunt.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, senior party leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu took a dig at Mr. Gandhi, saying that at a time when Parliament is debating the issue, he should have been there. Mr. Naidu wondered, why he did not visit Kerala and other places where dalit atrocities took place in recent past.
Mr Naidu said, state government has taken prompt action against the people behind the ghastly crime in which some dalits were thrashed over the allegation of killing of cow. He accused the Congress and the BSP of politicizing the issue. The Minister said the BJP and the NDA government are committed for the social cohesion and will take every step in this direction.
