    Published on September 28, 2019

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that Pakistan should understand that with strong resolve and advancement in its naval capacity, India is capable of giving a much bigger blow to it.

He was speaking after commissioning of INS Khanderi, the second of Kalvari Class diesel-electric attack submarines of the Indian Navy in Mumbai today. He said the government is committed to fulfilling the needs of the defence forces.

He added that some bad powers are trying to launch an attack like the 26/11, but India will never let that happen as the country remains fully prepared. He asserted that INS Khanderi is a step in that direction.

Stating that the country is proud of its Navy, the Defence Minister lauded its achievement during the operation Trident and Python which had crippled Pakistan.

Rajnath Singh said that a confident navy is built by confident leadership and asserted that India believes in co-existence with its neighbours.

Mr. Singh stated that construction of the submarine is benefiting industries indirectly through the Make in India programme while the Navy’s special partnership with the French Navy will touch new heights.

The Defence Minister said the navy has done great work in the eradication of piracy in waters and today, India has established itself as Brown water navy and its positive impact can be seen on New Delhi’s trade with other countries.

On the occasion, the Defence Minister also launched INS Nilgiri, the first ship of the P-17A frigates and inaugurated world-class Aircraft Carrier Dock.
