New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned thrice till 1230 PM today on the issues of Cauvery water dispute and demonetisation. AIADMK members trooped into the well of the House demanding setting up of Cauvery Mamagement Board.

Congress members also trooped into the well demanding the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the House to listen to the debate on demonetization.

Dereck O’ Brien of the TMC said the house should continue the discussion, which began yesterday, on demonetisation. He wanted Prime Minister should be present in the House.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu took a strong objection to the language used by the TMC member. He asked the Chair to ensure protection of institutions like prime minister.

The Deputy Chairman P J Kurien observed that members should maintain decorum. He also said the Chair will expunge relevant portions. The House was adjourned for 18 minutes till 1130 and then till Noon. There was no change in the scenario in the House when they reassembled at noon.
