Republic day celebrated in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar : The 70th Republic day was celebrated in Kokrajhar in a befitting manner.

The chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary hoisted the nation tricolor amidst huge gathering of pubic at Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose school playground.

Mohilary also take salute to the march past by security forces and students of various educational institutions. A colourful cultural programme was also displayed by students of various educational institutions.

In his speech, Mohilary urged the citizens to maintain peace and harmony and work for unity and development of the country. He called upon the militants groups to come forward for peace negotiation. Various awards were also given away to the awardees in the filed of sports, journalism and academic excellence.

The Republic day was also celebrated in the two subdivision of Gosssaigaon and Parbhatjhora in a befitting manner with various colourful programmes.
