Mangaldai : Like the other parts of the State , strong resentment prevails among the grass root leaders and workers of AGP over their party’s central leadership over selection of candidature for Mangaldai assembly seat . The local leaders of the regional party’s Mangaldai Bidhan Parishad ( Mangaldai constituency ) including its president Ramesh Deka , secretary Habibar Rahman , vice president Leelamoy Saikia , Paran Das etc while addressing media in presence of a section of their  workers here at their party’s district office on Saturday afternoon rued over declaring incumbent Mangaldai Legislator Gurujyoti Das as the candidate of the BJP-AGP-UPPL allies for Mangaldai assembly seat alleging his ignorance towards AGP workers as the local Legislator and they can’t expect anything from him in future too .

They stated that in this regard communications had been made several times with their central leadership but without any response .Expressing strong resentment over their party leadership of ignoring their opinion in selection of the candidate of the allies , the AGP workers declared that they wouldn’t vote for  Gurujyoti Das . On other hand  they would decide unanimously for whom they would later on . Meanwhile party workers also criticized former President of Asom Sahitya Sabha Dr Parmananda Rajbongshi who had joined AGP and worked to get party’s  ticket for Kalaigaon assembly seat but suddenly left the party to join the saffron party on Saturday to contest in Sipajhar assembly seat . Talking to North East Now Naba Kumar Deka , one of the contenders for a ticket of the regional party in Sipajhar rued , “ Once we were proud of Parama da , but now he has turned out to be a curse for our district . He is just like the blue jackal of the story.”
