Jorhat:  Assam Congress Committee with association with the Jorhat district congress committee stormed the streets of Jorhat after a rally being organized at the Jorhat stadium complex which was attended by several hundreds of protesters which was led by Ripon Bora-Assam Congress committee president, Rana Goswami-Nikhil Bharat Congress committee general secretary, Dip Gogoi-Jorhat district congress committee president, Krishna Das-Jorhat district congress committee secretary among various others who led the procession through the main thoroughfare of the Jorhat city followed by melodies of patriotic songs of Bhupen Hazarika here today.

The protesters also shouted slogans over the implementation of most controversial bill which was passed by the Narendra Modi led government recently in the parliament. During the protest rally Ripon Bora heavily flayed BJP led Central and State government and heavily flayed seven former AASU leaders which includes Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta, Birendra Kumar Baishya, Tapan Gogoi, Amiyo Bhuyan and Himanta Biswa Sarma are the forgotten heroes to have forgotten their motherland and they were acting as Badan and responsible for selling jati, mati and bheti by implementing the CAA.

Mr Ripun Borah said, Congress party  is the only option for the people of Assam who will safeguard and give peace, as for example in 1955 when undivided Goalpara district was about to hand over to West Bengal and under the leadership of Congress tenure the then, it was saved from being attached. So going back to the initiative taken by various political leaders like Himanta Biswa Sarma who at this juncture is yet fooling the people by delivering speech and speaking over the state language and trying to bring the controversy who does not have any base to safeguard the people at this hour of crisis when the state is under fire.

Earlier before the rally five martyrs of CAA were paid floral tribute in front of the portrait and lighting of the earthen lamp by the Congress leaders and workers at the venue of the protesting site in the premises of the Jorhat Stadium.

Moreover two members from the Sanmilito Lachit Sena, Assam its Jorhat district president Manoj Kumar Bordoloi, Secretary Debojit Baruah trounced their head over the protest of CAA, sat for demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office beside the AT Road here today.
