  • Rongali Bihu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried his hand at The Assamese Bihu instruments at the residence of Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal

    GUWAHATI :The programme was organised on Saturday on the occasion of Rongali Bihu at the residence of Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in the national capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the event on the occasion. During the event, PM Modi tried his hand at many musical instruments. During this time, PM Modi enjoyed bihu dance and folk dance and other programmes performed by artists from Assam for more than an hour. Not only that, he also interacted with artists and other guests. Rongali Bihu is celebrated for a week from April 14 on the occasion of New Year of Assam. Sonowal lauded the Prime Minister for attending the function and said it reflected his love for the people of Assam and their culture. “I am thankful to the Prime Minister for his presence at the Bihu ceremony and for his blessings. In the last eight years, they have taken unprecedented initiatives for the overall development of Assam and the North-East. Union Ministers Anurag Singh Thakur, Nagendra Singh Tomar, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh were among those who attended the event.
