  • Rotarians spread awareness through fashion walk

    New Delhi : A ramp walk for a cause was organised by Rotarian Mridula Khatri, president of Rotary Club of Delhi Panchshila Park at NCUI Auditorium New Delhi. The occasion saw a ramp walk by Rotarians, Models, kids (including thalassemic), Rotaractors and renowned personalities supporting a cause for Thalassemia Foundation and Raktdan App. On this occasion District Governor Rtn Vinay Bhatia was the Chief Guest.

     

    This program, organised to support Thalassemia Foundation and Raktdan App (India’s Leading Digital blood Bank), was divided into various categories of Ramp Walk, and not only talked of Thalassemia, but also Women Empowerment and Dance Performances by Dance Out  of Poverty.

     

    Entrepreneur, social worker, Rtn. Mridula Khatri (president RCD Panchshila Park) said that this is completely a charity program, which has diversified objectives. To support the foundation against Thalassemia and Raktdan app. fashion walk where basic objective is to create awareness to eliminate Thalassemia and the money collected from here will be used to test and help children with Thalassemia. She said that it is important to understand the objective with heart, mind and soul towards Thallasemia Children and blood donation in which such programs are very helpful.

     

    During the program, 80+ Rotarians, models kids (including thalassemic), rotaractors and renowned personalities walked on the ramp.

     

    During the program, guests were informed about the Raktdan App. Mr Sanjay Khatri invented this app, which shows his passion for passing through. Out of which, about 2000-3000 people have taken advantage of its services. The thing to know is that India needs 1.20 million units, but we are less than 3 million units.

     

    Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder characterised by less-oxygen carrying protein (haemoglobin) and fewer red blood cells in the body than normal. A video appealing that a small mistake could be fatal. It is not a big task to have a test before marriage and after pregnancy, its awareness is very important. For this, guests present were asked to take oath to create awareness towards Thalassemia and Blood Donation.

     

    Foundation Against thalassemia is working tremendously for the welfare of the Thalassemia children. Foundation provides all the services to the Thalassemia Children free of charge whether medicines, blood transfusion, trips or any other needs.
