Tax Reforms Continue Worldwide Despite Economic Turmoil, Electronic Filing Increasing Especially

Hyderabad : Rotary International District 3150, Project 511 along with the
Rotary Clubs of Hyderabad East, Kothagudem, Guntur Aadarsh donated 10,000 School Dual Desks to 218 Government Schools of Ranga Reddy District and Hyderabad here in a function held today at Hitex Grounds in city. All these desks were lined up at the venue and were distributed to the concerned schools in the presence of school children through the hands of D.Purandeswari, Minister of State for Commerce, Government of India and Nadendla Manohar, Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Speaking on the occasion Purandeswari lauded the efforts of all those involved in the project. Providing school desks is a very good thought she said added that social service is their in our blood in Indians. Our old scriptures also have evidence of social service. Government alone can’t do everything. There is lot of vaccum leftover, which these orgnasations have to fill the gap. It is important that organizations like Rotary International and Round Table and many other must come forward to support the government.
Infrastructure in schools is not adequate. There is a lot of scarcity of the same. If India has to move forward, orgnisations like Rotary should join hands with government to create infrastructure in the schools. I am pleased to know that Rotary International Dist 3150 has come forward to donate 10,000 school dual desks at a cost of Rs 1.65crore said Nadendla Manohar and urged Rotarians and Roundtablers to extend these services to schools in rural areas also.
Sunil Reddy, Chairman, Governing Council of Project 511, an initiative of Hyderabad Round Table No.8 Charitable Trust which targeted to provide infrastructure in 511 government schools said while addressing the gathering that they have completed the project of providing high quality education experience to children in 511 schools and would like to take up another 511 schools. At Project 511, we focus on interveninig in six areas i.e Project Blackboard, Seating, Sanitation, Matriculation, Teaching and learning material and Mobile Science Lab.
The 10,000 School Dual Desks distribution program was organized on the occasion of the maiden visit of its International President Rotarian Sakuji Tanaka from Japan. This will be an attempt to create the Guinness World Record to create awareness about the school infrastructure.
The benches costing Rs 1.65crore were provided with the support of The Rotary Foundation and Rotarian Pekka Pietilainen, Rotarian Bob Stowell, Rotarian John Dodd District Governors of Rotary District 1400, 5950 and 9680.
The mega project of donating the school desks was taken up under the Right To Learn – Total Literacy programme of Rotary International. Speaking on the occasion Rotarian Dr. Ravi Vadlamani, Chairman Total Literacy Mission said the initiative taken up today was part of the mission to distribute one lakh school benches. Rotarians have so far distributed about 50,000 benches at cost of Rs 10 crores informed Dr. Ravi Vadlamani. Rotary Pledges to make South Asia “Totally Literate by 2017, he added.
We at Rotary International District 3150 aims to provide one lakh schools desks to the under privileged children in the Government Schools across the state of Andhra Pradesh. This Numbers in Addition to the 50,000 desks all Ready Distributed. Our mission will continue till every government school in the state is provided with schools desks he said. The program kicked off a year ago where Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy donated the Benches to the needy schools. In September 3000 benches each were distributed in Guntur, Karimnagar Dsitrcts. Today 10,000 Desks are Being Distributed.
Each of these benches cost us Rs 2000/-. All the funds required are solely met by Rotarians informed Rotarian TVR Murti, District Governor of Rotary District 3150. It gives us immense pleasure to undertake such activities he said.
Many private schools in city, Guntur, Tadepalligudem, Bhimvaram, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam and many individuals and companies from Hyderabad, Anakapally, Guntur have also joined hands with Rotarians and launched “Child to Child Program” to support its mission.
The function was graced by big brass of Rotary International like Rajendra K. Saboo, Kalyan Banerjee, two Indians who have served in the past as President of Rotary International. Antonio Halage, Ashok Mahajan, Trustees of The Rotary Foundation and Yash Pal Das and Shekhar Mehta Directors of Rotary International, P.T. Prabhakar, Rotary International Director Elect, Kishore Kumar, Chairman Round Table India Ara-9, Vineet Parikh, President of Round Table India, Rotarians Virpi, Leila Risteli, Matti—Rotary District Governors of various Districts in Finland; Rma Bhoopal, Chairman Hyderabad Round Table No. 8 and film star and Round Table member Daggubati Suresh.
Starting from tomorrow Mr. Sakuji Tanaka, a Japanese, President of Rotary International, will be on a three day maiden visit to Hyderabad. He has assumed office recently in a international Rotary Convention held in Bangkok.
