Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has advanced to the second round of Denmark Open Badminton Tournament while PV Sindhu has crashed out of the women singles category of the competition.

 Saina defeated Hong Kong’s Cheung Ngan 20-22,21-17,24-22 in the first match held at Odense today.

Third seed and a silver medal winner in Olympics and Asian Games PV Sindhu lost to the American Beiwen Zhang 21-17, 16-21, and 21-18.

In Men’s Singles, seventh-placed Kidambi Srikanth will face local boy Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, with B Sai Praneeth playing China’s Huang Yuxiang. Sameer Verma will square off against the third-placed Chinese Shi Yuqi.

Indian shuttlers will also be seen in action in Men’s and Mixed Doubles categories.
