  • Sarbananda Sonowal attends joint induction training of ACS and allied services officers

    Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal urged the ACS and allied services officers of 2019 to work hard for earning trusts of the people through empathy, diligence, honesty and dedication. Addressing officers of the Joint Induction Training of ACS and Allied Services- 2019 at Assam Administrative Staff College here today, Chief Minister Sonowal also said that the 193 newly recruited officers should always try to encourage values in the society so that people can repose their trusts and faith in the democratic system. Stressing that value system is the corner-stone for establishing ‘Ram Rajya’ dreamt by Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Sonowal urged upon the newly recruited officers to keep working with integrity and sincerity so that they can contribute to strengthen values in society. He also asked the officers to work for the promotion of peace, harmony and universal brotherhood in the society. “For strengthening peace everybody needs to work with positive mindset. The newly inducted officers need to translate their learning into practice”, Sonowal said. He moreover urged upon the officers to re-dedicate themselves for the service of the nation and face any hostility upfront to establish morale of human civilization. He also asked the officers to imbibe devotion to render their services to the people. Chief Minister Sonowal said that the officers should also put their best efforts to involve the people with the government machinery. He also informed that the present State government is sincerely trying to strengthen the edifice of value-based society and therefore, unleashed an uncompromising tirade against corruption. As a result of the steps taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce digitization in the administrative process, corruption from the system has been eliminated to a great extent. He moreover said that due to transparent administration being pursued by the State government, people's trust towards APSC has significantly improved. Besides, Commissioner and Secretary for Administrative Reform and Training Department KK Dwivedi who gave welcome address in the programme, Chief Secretary Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Rajiv Bora, Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia also spoke on the occasion. Director Assam Administrative Staff College Gakul Mohan Hazarika gave vote of thanks in the programme which was also attended among others by Chief Minister's Legal Advisor Santanu Bharali, Commissioner and Secretary Skill Development Department Ashutosh Agnihotri and several senior officers.
