  • Sarma asks the student body to work as a trailblazer to use student power for nation building

    GUWAHATI : The students’ power is the mightiest power which corresponds to the power of the nation. Hailing the ABVP, the Chief Minister said that the student body has always strived to work for nation building and creating youth leaders based on the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. He expressed his happiness to attend the convention and said that the student body should pioneer the nation building processes, Said Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa sarma

    Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today attended the 28 th State Convention of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at the premises of Gauhati Commerce College and said that the student body needs to work to strengthen the edifice of cultural nationalism in the country. Dr. Sarma said that ABVP true to actual requirements of the country is working to strengthen the edifice of cultural nationalism based on the ethos and values of the country. Stating that India is a young nation where the young students have the potential to make the country great, he called upon the members and other student leaders of ABVP to work for creating a roadmap to expedite the reconstruction process of the nation to rediscover its inner vitality.

    The Chief Minister also said that the convention should discuss the ways for creating a robust foundation of a strong economy and a foundation for Atmanirbhar Bharat. He also said that this convention should initiate a momentum for the country to use youth power for a stronger nation. Reiterating the power of the students, the Chief Minister said that gone were those days when agitation ruled the roost. Now the time has changed when the students are increasingly using their power to change the society for betterment by indulging themselves in work culture. Speaking on National Education Policy 2020, the Chief Minister said that the policy has formulated in sync with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) to ease the integration of vocational education into higher education. The policy has the components to identify specific skills that students must acquire during their academic programmes with the aim of preparing well-rounded learners with 21 st century skills.

    He also asked the student body to work as facilitator and generate awareness on the provisions of the NEP 2020 which has the potential to transform the human resources of the country into skilled and entrepreneurial resources. State President ABVP Assam Parishad Robin Kakati, State Secretary ABVP, Assam Parishad Simanta Kumar Baishya, National General Secretary BJP Dilip Saikia, members of ABVP from across the country and others were present on the occasion.
