In simple words, it is defined as the development of a website. It broadly has 2 aspects – front end and back end. The front end is what happens on the outside and is visible to the user i.e how a website functions, where the click buttons are located or how it reacts to a scroll etc. Some of the programming languages that are used for front-end development are – HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The back end is what happens behind the curtain and the user can’t see i.e storage of information, keeping the data synced with the servers to ensure a flawless experience for the user etc.  Some of the frequently used programming languages for backend development are – PHP, Ruby, ASP.NET, Perl, Java, Node.js, Python.
