Security arrangements in place for Obama visit: Rajnath Singh

Rajnath-Singh-Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured that all security arrangements are in place for US President Barack Obama’s three-day visit during which he will be the Chief Guest on the Republic Day function.

With just few days left for U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit to India, security has been tightened in the national capital.

The Central government’s security managers will throw an unprecedented eight-tier protection ring around Obama during his three-day high-profile visit, beginning from 25th February.

Obama’s immediate security comprising of two layers will remain in the hands of chosen US secret service agents and the elite Green Berets, US’s special forces soldiers.

The other outer rings will comprise of Indian elite forces that include commandos drawn from the special protection group tasked to guard PM and former PMs, national security guards meant for Z plus security for VVIPs,commandos from paramilitary forces and the Delhi Police.

Besides, a host of US secret service agents, special forces personnel and officials from NSA and FBI, seven highly trained dogs of Belgian Malinois breed will take care of Obama’s security.

Security has been beefed up en route from the airport to hotel ITC Maurya where the visiting president will be staying.
