Seminar on Safety in Travel and Tourism is planned to mark the occasion and to celebrate the same

Hyderabad: Skal International Hyderabad Chapter to observe “World Skal Day”. It is celebrated by over 20 thousand Members, from 500 and odd clubs, from 90 Countries worldwide. It was on 26th April 1934 as all individual clubs were unified and “Association Internationale des Skal Clubs” was created.  The World Skal Day is a celebration of this historic beginning of our present day Skal International and observed fondly by all Skallegues all over the World.

To mark the occasion and to celebrate the same, a “Seminar on Safety in Travel and Tourism” will be organised here in city on 26th April at Hotel Marigold.   Disclosing this in a press note issued in city today Mr. Vijay Mohan Raj, President of Skal International Hyderabad Chapter  said many eminent  hotelier, travel agents, professionals from airlines, travel and tourism industry will participate. Some of the distinguished speakers will speak at the seminar.

Safety and Security in the age of Global Tourism has become paramount importance to one and all. There has been tremendous amount of increase in travel by many. Infact world has become a small village. Along with this, it is throwing open many concerns, challenges, incidents of terrorism, accidents etc and many are hitting the newspaper headlines often.  It is in this context, Skal decided to organize a seminar on the occasion of Skal World Day.  The speaker will address some of the key issued such as State of the Affairs, Concern, Challenges, Responsible Tourism, Perceptions, Role of Industry etc and others.

The Skal International is an organisation which is spread over 87 Countries of the World and having around 17,000 members, who are Professionals engaged in the Travel and Tourism Business

Skål is a professional organisation of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. It is the only international group uniting all branches of the travel and tourism industry. Its members, the industry’s managers and executives, meet at local, national, regional and international levels to discuss and pursue topics of common interest.

Skal is the platform that integrates all the Arms of the Travel and Tourism Industry. Founded in the year 1934 with its Head Office located in Spain, it has 16893 members from 403 clubs in 89 countries. This global organization consists of members from the Hotels, Airlines, Travel Agents and other areas of the Travel and Tourism Industry.

Skal International made its entry into India by establishing Skal International Delhi No. 125 on 31st March 1954, followed shortly by Skal International Calcutta (Now Kolkata) No. 127 on 30th April 1954. Skal International Hyderabad No.606, was officially became a member of this august body on 24th Jan 1996. Presently there Skal Clubs in India are, at Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Cochin, Goa, and Ahmadabad apart from the three earlier mentioned cites of Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad
