Sensex rises 106 points

Mumbai : Rising for the fourth straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 106 points, or 0.6 percent, to a 3-week high of 17,919, amid firm European markets, today. The 30-share Sensex had climbed more than 660 points in the previous three trading sessions. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 34 points, or 0.6 percent, to 5,464.

Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore ended mixed.
