Mumbai: The much talked case of Manjunath was once again in limelight when the movie titled Manjunath, based on his real life story got released in

The Cast includes veteran theatre and film actors like Divya Dutta, Anjorie Alagh, Seema Biswas and Yashpal Sharma who have all worked for a nominal fee since this subject really touched their hearts. When the cast was shooting in Lucknow, it was a very hush-hush affair. The shooting was kept under wraps and the entire film was shot under a fictitious name since it’s such a sensitive subject. Very few scenes in the film are fictional.
Set in India’s hinterland, the film revolves around young Manjunath Shanmugam who joins an oil firm right after his elite education from IIM Lucknow. One day Manjunath goes missing after he realizes that there exists a large scale adulteration of fuel. Even after several threats to his life, Manjunath is undeterred and decides to uncover the truth and fight for justice.
