    Published on March 13, 2019

Hyderabad: The city witnessed the launch of one of the biggest designer studios on Saturday, with Siddheshwari store by Uma Mahanti. A passion to celebrate womanhood and a zeal to offer the latest designer trends was what led to the launch of Siddheshwari at the prime location of the city.

When Uma Mahanti, a single mother, found herself in uncomfortable situations in the man’s world, she turned to being her own boss. “I had worked for years in the hospitality, media, and entertainment industry. As much as I want to refrain from bringing up old topics, I found the men to be hard to work with. There were long periods of mental trauma. That was when my mother suggested I look after the store that I had established for her years ago to keep busy,” she recollects.
Uma took the charge of the 150 sq feet store -Vastra- that Uma’s mother was managing and decided to expand it. That was how Siddheshwari was born, with sprawling 14,000 sq feet in the upmarket part of Jubilee Hills.
The idea of having Siddheshwari is that it could be a one-stop shop for all the festive needs and is priced at a range that serves all. The collection at the two-storey store includes designer fabric, sarees of all varieties, readymade kurtis, lehengas, pattu lehangas, sherwani, bandhgala, Nehru jacket, dhotis and churidar, dupattas, and more. The material used is pure like Ruby on silk, satin organza, silk tussar, raw silk, etc. The clothes can be customized and personalized to one’s needs.

“I want Siddheshwari to be for everybody. If one wants a grand designer-wear of a higher range, we have it. If one wants an affordable yet exquisite wear, we have that too,” informs Uma.

The store is a regal- architecture that transports one into the era of kings and queens. The architecture celebrates the grandeur of fashion and style.

Siddheshwari launches on 9th March at Jubilee Hills, Road no 45, with a hope that men and women will embrace all that it has to offer. “I personally travel to every cluster of India that has special weaves. Every piece in the store is special, just like the one who would wear it,” says Uma.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were Naga Susheela (Actor Nagarjuna’s sister), D K Aruna – Ex MLA, INC, R P Patnaik, Anup Rubens, Kalyani and Vijayalakshmi (singers)
