New Delhi: Former Rajya Sabha MP Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday said he resigned from upper house of the parliament as he was asked by his party, BJP to stay away from Punjab. Addressing media in New Delhi, the former cricketer said he wanted to serve Punjab and Amritsar. Sidhu claimed that he would not betray his state. Sidhu, however, remained silent on joining of any political party. Indirectly criticising Narendra Modi for taking this step Sidhu said, when the Modi wave was sweeping the country “I was not given my seat in Punjab and left out.”
