Haflong : In continuation of their agitation the All Dimasa students Union (ADSU), Dimasa Students Union (DSU) and Dimasa Mothers’ Association staged sit in demonstration in front the office of the deputy commissioner at Haflong today demanding CBI enquiry, immediate arrest of culprits, compensation to the diseased family and to provide appropriate justice.

Mention may be made here that on 24th April 2020 6pm Santosh Hojai was abducted from his house at Harangajao during nationwide lockdown and later his rotten body was found  on 30th April 2020 at  Lailing Area under Langting Police Station. His wife has also approached the High Court accusing the involvement the then DSP Surjya Kanta Morang.

Agnes Gorlosa, President, DMA, Pramith Sengyung, G S, DSU and Uttam Langthasa President, ADSU said we will be agitating by means of Sit-in demonstration for three day from today till May 22 despite lockdown but maintaining social distances till the government orders for CBI enquiry along with our other demands as we feel that by transferring Dima Hasao SP and DSP at a time when there has been a widespread protest alleging the involvement of DSP Morang in  killing of Hojai, the government has insulted the people of Dima Hasao. They said there has been a conspiracy to disturb the peace and development by creating such incidents of kidnapping and killing but the people of Dima Hasao are also adamant not to allow any force to create disturbances in the hill district of the state.
