SIVASAGAR : Elaborate preparations have been made to celebrate Sivasagar Day with a comprehensive programme on July 1 with the initiative of Sivasagar district administration and with the help of the people of Sivasagar. District Collector Megh Nidhi Dahal addressed a press conference in the Sukafa auditorium of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday, June 29. The deputy commissioner informed the press that Sivasagar Day could not be celebrated due to the covid epidemic in the past two years. So on July 1 this year, “Sivasagar Day” has been celebrated with various programmes. Various competitions like painting have already been held as part of this day’s programme.

The Song of Sivasagar Diwas will be broadcast through anubhav admonition from 5.00 am to 6.00 am on July 1. Cycling around Sivasagar Nagar at 6.00 am for unity and harmony, hoisting of flag at Shivsagar Deputy Commissioner’s Office at 9.30 am, public meeting at Sivasagar Yuva Dal Auditorium from 10.00 am to 12.00 am, lighting of vanti at all government offices and various parks at 6.00 pm. The play titled “Raja Katha” will be performed by the staff of The Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner’s Office at 7.00 pm at Sivasagar Yuvadal Auditorium. In the press conference, the Deputy Commissioner gave an idea of various development projects to be implemented in Sivasagar district in the coming days. These projects include Artbuilding, Prison Transfer, Conference Hall, Auditorium, Convention Centre, Tie Museum etc.

On the other hand an order has also been issued to hold special village meetings in all village panchayats of the district in line with Sivasagar Day on July 1. Apart from the district administration, the deputy commissioner also urged other persons and institutions in the district to celebrate Sivasagar Diwas on their own.
