NEW BEDFORD, MA… Global Learning Charter Public School (GLCPS), a tuition-free public charter school that currently services 500 students in grades 5-12, has 61 high school students participating in their long standing Dual Enrollment program with Bristol Community College (BCC) this fall semester.
The students requested and registered for the Dual Enrollment college courses last spring during high school scheduling. This number will continue to increase in the spring semester. Dual enrollment courses have increased in the past years at GLCPS from juniors and seniors to now all grades 9-12. In addition 22 high school students are enrolled in Advanced Placement classes.
GLCPS students will complete the Dual Enrollment courses in a diverse manner of instruction: asynchronously and through hybrid coursework, in-person at GLCPS and in-person at the Bristol campus.
“We are proud of our continued partnership with Bristol Community College that offers our students the opportunities to expand their education,” said Stephen Furtado Jr., Executive Director of GLCPS. “It is rewarding to see so many students take advantage of the program and experience higher level education. The program offers extra assistance in college planning and making important decisions for our students’ futures.”
