Chennai : Skechers, an American performance and lifestyle footwear brand has been named the official Title sponsor of the seventh edition of the 2019 Chennai Marathon. The Skechers Performance Chennai Marathon 2019 will be the country’s second largest Marathon and will be held on        Sunday, the 6^th of January 2019. With an expected participation of over 25,000 runners the marathon which will henceforth be held on the first Sunday of January every year, will see several national & international athletes along with corporate honchos and running enthusiast rub shoulders at the start line.

The Skechers Performance Chennai Marathon 2019 will witness huge participation from runners across the world. This is one of the few marathon events in the country that is entirely organized by the running community. The Marathon, brainchild of the  Chennai Runners, a passionate group that has been promoting running in Chennai for the past 10 years, will comprise of four events for men and women including a Full Marathon (42.195 Km) – the flagship race of the event, the Perfect 20 Miler (32.186 Km) – A new race category being held for the first time ever in a major marathon event, the Half Marathon (21.097 Km) and the 10 Km Run – which is expected to see participation from thousands of enthusiastic, excited, first time and experienced runners across age categories.
