  • Smartmatic Appoints Gilles Souche as New President for Europe, Middle East and Africa

    London : Smartmatic, a leading technology supplier around the world, has announced the addition of Mr. Gilles Souche to its management team as President of EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). With more than 17 years of experience in international sales, Mr. Souche possesses the skills to help Smartmatic achieve its expansion goals.

His strong sales knowledge, as well as his experience working in the region, make him a valuable asset to help us succeed in our strategic objectives which include attaining a stronger presence into the key markets of Europe, Middle East and Africa,” said Antonio Mugica, CEO of Smartmatic.
    As President of EMEA, Gilles Souche’s main responsibilities will encompass devising fresh strategies aimed at fostering the company’s market share in the region, identifying new business opportunities and maintaining current ones, as well as managing the company’s sales team.
    “I am very excited about joining such an outstanding and dedicated team, and look forward to designing and implementing the strategies for the company in the EMEA region; I believe I’ll feel perfectly at home with Smartmatic’s goals and values, as they are a perfect match with mine,” said Mr. Souche.
    Since 1993, Mr. Souche worked in Alcatel, where he was Sales Manager for Latin America, Sales Director for South East Asia, Vice President North Africa and Vice President Emerging Countries. In his last position in Alcatel as Sales Vice President, Mr. Souche was in charge of a 70-people sales force that tended to a wide range of customers including: rail operators, defense authorities, security agencies, institutional space agencies, local and federal governments, hospitals, schools, research institutions, oil and gas companies, public utilities and real estate developers.
