  • Socio-Entrepreneur Utkarsh Kishore Dreams Of A Socially Changed Bihar Landscape In Next Decade

    Published on September 21, 2021

It was his dream of bringing about social change at the ground level in his home-state in Bihar that inspired Utkarsh Kishore to launch a unique venture called TeamUK! And since then, this dynamic entrepreneur from Bihar is putting his skills and education to good use while uplifting the migrant workers of his state from abject poverty, offering them a chance for a better future. This young man believes that when an individual is financially independent, he can not only take care of his own family, but can be a powerful asset in nation building too. It is this thought that guides Utkarsh on his mission to create more and more job opportunities for skilled and qualified Bihari youth.

At the age of 28, Utkarsh, an MBA from the prestigious NarseeMonjee Institute of Management Studies, is running an automobile modification unit in Patna – Cosmo Drive Private Limited – of which he is a Director. He is also the owner and Founder of TeamUK, which is a unique means to bring a change in the society, particularly in the rural areas, through multiple charitable initiatives. Speaking about his mission, Utkarsh says, “My mission is to provide jobs, not charity, because a family needs to learn to stand on its own two feet, which is the only way to build a nation stronger. Financial security can help families sustain better, educate their children, and create noble citizens for the future and live with dignity.”

He is inspired by his parents – father Shyam Kishore who is a civil servant and mother Anju, a renowned social worker working with several NGOs in the state. During his Delhi University days, Utkarsh was seen by his fellow students as a go-getter, student leader and motivator who helped several youngsters realise their dream of working in the Indian civil services. He has been interested in social upliftment and making a difference to the lives of downtrodden people right since his University days.

He is also an active participant at various social welfare events in the country, where he represents his state and puts forth measures that will contribute to the betterment of women and children in particular. In this regard, he was part of a team led by Sh. Madan Sahni, Minister of Social Welfare in Bihar at the 2-day National Conference organised by the Central Ministry of Women and Child Development. Smt. Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Women & Child Development, presided over the Conference, in which different issues related to nutrition needs of mother and child were taken up for discussion. Utkarsh Kishore has also worked as Coordinator for Bihar government’s dream project “Champaran Satyagrah” organized to celebrate the Centenary Year of the historic event related to India’s Independence Struggle. This project brings rural issues to light and resolves the local problems in 6 districts of Bihar.

For his association with several social welfare initiatives and his mission to provide jobs to youth in Bihar, Utkarsh was recently honoured with the “Bihar Gaurav Sammaan” too. As a young socio-entrepreneur and philanthropist, Utkarsh stays in touch with his state’s leading industrialists, senior politicians as well as other social workers and NGOs. His networking skills ensure that he keeps fulfilling his mission of social upliftment regularly.
