Sonalee Kulkarni and Sachin Khedekar to witness Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival

Marathi film actress Sonalee Kulkarni who has worked in films like ‘Ajintha’, ‘Natarang’, Shutter, etc and Sachin Khedekar of the film ‘Kaksparsh’ Taryanche bait, Fakta Ladh Mhana will be seen at the on-going Mumbai Women’s International Film festival (MWIFF). The festival raised its curtain on 6th December and will conclude on 13th of this month.

The film ‘Shutter’ directed by national award winning director V.K Prakash which stars Sachin Khedekar  and Sonalee Kulkarni  will be premiered on 9th December 2014 at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi. The film also stars Amey Wagh, Prakash Bare, Jaywant Wadkar, Radhika Harshe, Kaumudi Walokar, Kamlesh Sawant.

The film ‘Shutter’ is a heart pounding suspense thriller, an intense social satire and at the same time, a complete family entertainer. The film portrays the unexpected incidents happening over two days in the life of an oversees returned, middle class family man Jitya Bhau in a small town city of Maharashtra. It is a gripping account of how a moment of weakness traps him with a prostitute in a stuffy, empty shop room right in front of his house and how the ensuing tense moments transform his life for ever. The 24 hour of confinement inside the shutter and the nail biting incidents dramatically alters the personal equations between the two strangers.

Besides ‘Shutter’ the festival will also showcase other Marathi films like ‘Rakhandaar’, ‘Vitti Dandu’, ‘Kapus Kondyachi Goshta’, ‘Swami Public Ltd.’

“We are fortunate enough to have received such content oriented Marathi films at MWIFF 2014 and happy to promote regional cinema at an international level”, says Festival Director, Avinash Pawar.

The 8-day long festival will end on 13th December 2014.
