In South Africa, Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has asked people to adhere to the Coronavirus-linked national lockdown regulations as the COVID-19 cases in South Africa crossed the 10,000 mark. Zwelithini, who is leader of the largest Zulu ethnic group in the country, yesterday appealed people to adhere to the instructions from the government and the medical experts.
The monarch’s remarks came amidst growing concern about the number of people not following the regulations such as compulsory wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing. The death toll has risen to 194 as COVID-19 infections in the South Africa jumped to 10,015. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said that a total of 341,336 tests have been conducted in the country.
