WEYMOUTH, MA,:South Shore Habitat for Humanity (http://sshabitat.org), which has delivered quality housing in partnership with families in need for the past 32 years, announces its Faith Partner Committee and is presently seeking to grow its membership.

The goal of the Faith Partner Committee is to build support for South Shore Habitat for Humanity’s work by gaining volunteers, prayer and financial resources from community churches.  The committee will work in partnership with faith communities by offering members the opportunity to engage in ministry through involvement with the South Shore Habitat for Humanity.

Committee objectives include increasing awareness of Habitat programs and helping faith communities strengthen their congregation’s involvement in the community.

The Faith Partnership Committee also seeks to recruit volunteers who support South Shore Habitat for Humanity through prayers.  Together, each can put their faith in to action. The Faith Partnership Committee will be comprised of religious leaders, lay volunteers, Habitat representatives and Liaison Partners.

“One of the most important aspects of Habitat for Humanity is faith, for that is what our organization was founded on,” said Martine Taylor, Executive Director of South Shore Habitat for Humanity. “We are excited to announce our Faith Partner Committee; by its very nature, Habitat for Humanity relies on faith and partnerships to help people realize their dreams of home ownership.”
