  • Special team begins probe into Presidency vandalism

    pcThe special team constituted by the West Bengal Human Rights Commission to probe the vandalism in Presidency University began inquiry on yesterday.

    It is expected to submit a report within 15 days.

    “We will talk to some more people tomorrow and Monday and after that prepare our report. “Our only task is to find out the truth,” Amal Mukhopadhyay, former principal of Presidency College, who heads the team, said.

    Persons carrying Trinamool Congress flags vandalised the Baker Laboratory and other departments at Presidency University on 10th April.

    The university Vice-Chancellor had stated that she saw the perpetrators carrying TMC flags.

    Taking serious note, the WBHRC had asked the police commissioner to investigate the incident and submit a report within two weeks.
