New Delhi; Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extolled the virtues of playing sports, saying it can be a foundation for national integration.
Interacting with young sportspersons at the launch of Reliance Foundation Youth Sports through video conferencing, the Prime Minister said India is a large and diverse nation and sports can bring the people together.
He said sports is very important for physical health and overall development of personality.
Mr Modi said sports should be made a part of day to day activity. He said it is essential to play in order to shine.
The Prime Minister also asked sportspersons to not let defeat affect them and strive continuously to achieve success. He said it is essential to be hardworking in order to be a good sportsperson.
