The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, and its adjoining areas turned white following fresh snowfall today.
The Met department has issued a forecast for light snow in Srinagar with further drop in the maximum temperature today. However, there will be some improvement tomorrow followed by heavy spell of snow from January 18 to 21.
Roofs, vehicles and tree tops besides open fields and roads had turned white due to fresh snowfall. Roads have become slippery affecting traffic movement.
A large number of local and outside tourists could be seen enjoying snowfall.
