    Mangaldai  :  The seventh edition of the State Child Protection Day has been observed at Mangaldai on Wednesday along with different other parts. In this connection Darrang district child protection unit befitting the year’s theme ‘Let’s create a safe environment for our children to live’ organized an open meeting and elocution contest among the school children here at the auditorium of district library . The meeting attended by several distinguished guests including District Development Commissioner Sweety Gogoi Kalita, DSP Mamoni Hazarika, District Child Protection Officer Kobendra Warisha, Chairman District Child Welfare Committee Rajen Ch Das, its member Purnima Goswami and Labour Inspector Amulya Talukdar discussed significance of the Day and other relevant issues like the importance of five Ps ie Prevention, Paramountcy, Partnership, Protection and Parental responsibility. Earlier Pallabi Sarma of the child protection unit explained the objectives of the meeting moderated by Dulal Deka of the same unit. The winners of elocution contest Dikshasmita Saikia, Sonali Dey and Ankur Deka were also awarded in the function. The day long celebration which ended with offering of vote of thanks from Protection Officer Kanaklata Baruah also witnessed presentation of songs and dance performances by the in mates Kasturi Sishu Griha and Sishu Griha run by Dhula Regional Physically Handicapped Development Association.
