Mumbai: Mr. Kunal Jadhav, Master Trainer at True Fitness suggests some simple tips to keep healthy and boost your immunity against airborne diseases common during this rainy season.

It is important to maintain a regular exercise regiment during the rainy season. Going to a gym offers a wide  variety of exercise options & your schedule will not be disrupted by the rainy weather.

Since the temperature outside is low during the monsoons, spend more time doing a basic warm up to increase blood circulation. A good warm up could include brisk walking or a light jog suitable for most people across all age groups. This elevates the heart rate and makes it easier to stretch those muscles.

Stretch your body slowly and steadily after your warm up. Stretching eases stiffness, which is a common complaint during the monsoons. A good option for the monsoons is ‘Bikram Hot Yoga’ at True Fitness, which is performed at a high temperature of 41 degree Celsius. This scientific method of yoga, if performed twice or thrice a week, will not only take care of your general health, but also help manage your weight and boost your immune system.

Another recommended workout is the ‘1-Vest’. This technology is new in India and is available only at True Fitness. This is a one stop solution for all your exercise requirements. Utilizing Cable Motion Technology, along a single, dual or multiple axes that can be attached to 18 strategically-placed steel rings on a special vest, 1-Vest can support a multitude of movements – from push ups, squats, pull ups, lunges and even shadow boxing. Weights are attached to the vest via the cables and provide resistance to the user’s movements. A 40-minute session of 1-Vest Training provides an entire body workout and is a perfect substitute for any form of outdoor exercise. Done under the professional guidance of a fitness trainer, you can achieve a strong and shapely body, a happy mind and an immune system strong enough to combat the common viruses and germs.

Toxins tend to accumulate as we do not sweat as much during the cool monsoon months. Therefore, it is important to keep yourself sufficiently hydrated during the monsoons in order to release the toxins. Start your day with 2 glasses of warm water and drink at least eight to ten glasses of water during the day. Tasty high – water content foods/ fruits are also a good option. Rich in Vitamin C, fruits boost your immune system and does wonders for your skin and body.
