    Cancer is a lifestyle disease while stomach cancer has been rated as the fourth most common cancer in the world. There are several risk factors involved in giving rise to the medical condition, among which few are ethnicity, genetics, and so on. According to the National Cancer Institute, the disease is often diagnosed at an advanced stage when it can be treated but not cured. Citrus fruits like lemon, oranges, grapefruits are rich in vitamin C that helps to balance the blood level in our body. Alongside, a variety of fruits and green leafy vegetables are a good source of fiber which can lower the chances of getting stomach cancer.
    • Maintain a healthy weight – Being overweight can be a possible reason to develop or give rise to cancer in the upper part of our stomach near the esophagus, the medical condition is commonly known as cardia. Therefore, a regular exercise routine should be followed diligently that can prevent any kind of serious health concerns. Brisk walking, jogging, or quick yoga sessions can go a long way in preventing a number of diseases.
    • Say no to tobacco – Smoking or the intake of alcohol is a potential risk for stomach cancer. It doubles the risk and also reduces the living years of an individual. Therefore quitting these habits can help a person reduce the risk and live a hassle-free life.
    • Avoid getting exposed to environmental dust – Several studies have shown that workers who are exposed to environmental dust and fumes are more likely to attain gastric cancer. Therefore taking proper precautions while visiting the site is a must. This will also help a person avoid certain respiratory or skin-related health ailments.

    Apart from the above-mentioned lifestyle habits, regular medical screenings and checkups are important to examine and keep a check on any suspicious symptoms. If cancer has not spread to the other body parts, a variety of surgical treatments can be used to treat it. Depending on the stage of cancer the doctors will determine the best course of treatment.
