Bangalore – Stonehill International School, Bangalore, celebrated the Graduating Class of 2024 with an elegant ceremony at the Hilton Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park on May 18th. The special evening brought the Stonehill community together to acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments and journey of the graduates.
Mr. Jitu Virwani, Founder of Stonehill International School and Chairman & MD of Embassy Group, addressed the graduates with an inspiring speech. He highlighted the invaluable support system provided by the Stonehill community, the lifelong friendships formed, and the essential tools gained through the IB programme. He encouraged the graduates to embrace failures and successes equally, reminding them that every setback is an opportunity for growth.
This year’s Valedictorian, Durriya Gandhi, delivered a heartfelt speech, reminiscing about her treasured memories at Stonehill and the lasting relationships formed with her teachers and peers. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, reflecting the shared experiences of the graduating class.
The Class of 2024 has demonstrated exceptional academic excellence, achieving a 100% placement rate. The graduates are set to attend top universities worldwide, receiving offers from over twenty-three countries in diverse fields such as Engineering, Applied Maths, Industrial Design, Life Sciences, Medicine, Politics, Economics, Animation, and Film-making among many others.
Remarkably, 64% of the class received offers from the world’s top 100 universities, including prestigious institutions like Imperial College London, UK; University College London (UCL), UK; London School of Economics, UK; University of Toronto, Canada; The University of Melbourne, Australia; The University of British Columbia, Canada; Boston University, US; Trinity College Dublin, Ireland; University of Amsterdam, The University of Sydney, Australia; UC San Diego among others. Additionally, the sixty-four graduates have secured scholarships worth 2.73 million USD, showcasing their hard work and dedication.
Joe Lumsden, Head of School, Stonehill International School, congratulated the Class of 2024 on their outstanding achievements. His speech resonated with the students as he weaved in the top most teen-searched songs on Spotify. He emphasised the importance of strength of character, self-care, relationships, commitment, and the need to reflect on one’s learning and personal growth. He wished the graduates luck and success in their future endeavours.
The ceremony concluded with a sense of pride and optimism for the future, as the Graduating Class of 2024 embarked on their next exciting journey.
