Nearly 9348 students had appeared in the GATE 2019 and Sayantika scored a Rank of No. 1 in the area of Biotechnology. She wants to do her higher studies in Biomedical Engineering and wants to do further research in application of Nano Sciences in Biomedical Engineering. She prefers to appear for the written examinations and interviews in IISc Bengaluru, IIT Mumbai, IIT Chennai and IIT Kanpur. But among the above, she prefers IISc Bengaluru.

After completing her Research, she wants to contribute to the City of Joy Kolkata by developing Nano chips through the application of Nano Sciences and Engineering to measure the Pollution levels of the city so that a regular check can be kept on the same. Her father is a practicing lawyer and she recalls that a 6  months hard work following the Mock Test papers of GATE had helped her to secure such a Rank. She did not take any additional coaching. The Faculty members of the Department of Biotechnology, Heritage Institute of Technology had supported her a lot apart from the support of her parents. “Sayantika had made us proud and this is all because of her hard work and continuous support from the faculty members,” said Shri Pradip Kumar Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata. Her hobbies are reading books and listening to music which motivates her a lot.
