  • Students display their creative and technical skills at Tech fests

    New Delhi : After Engifest 2011 – the cultural festival, has come to an end, it is time for technical festivals at Delhi Technological University (DTU), which are organized by various professional societies linked with different Departments of Engineering at the University. The technical fests are being held at DTU from February 22-25, 2011.

    TROIKA – the festival by IEEE-DTU Students Chapter includes Radix, the most popular event on Robotics, where digitally operated and mechanically controlled robots participate in contests that test the robotics skills of participants in solving predefined problems in robot design. Envision is a software development competition that sees participants coming up with path-breaking concepts. Junkyard – where participants are required to create something interesting out of scrap, Technovision – technical paper presentation andBrainwave – the hardware conceptualization contest aims to showcase the latest among hardware designs, their synthesis and enhancements, are the other highlights of Trokia-2011.

    INNOVA – the jointly conducted, techno-management fest of Department of Mechanical & Production Engineering and Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering will haveVentura – where teams will be presenting their Business Plans to a panel of judges and convince them that their plan robust, worthy of investment, and resilient. It will also have Air-Gliding challenge where Gliders made by students will be launched from an elevation and their performance characteristics will be noted to decide the winner. The Clay-Play of INNOVA is a design challenge where participants will sketch their dream car and make a clay-model of it, which will be judged on the basis of its aesthetic appeal and aerodynamic features.

    RENAISSANCE – the technical festival of IET has events like LAN Gaming, Ad Mad, Green-o-Vation – a predefined environmental remedy presentation challenge and Robo Rush, where students are required to design a robot (wired or wireless) capable of traversing a path (with obstacles) in minimum duration of time. Similarly, Department of Polymer Science and Chemical Technology are organizing their fest TATVA in association with SPE, the Department of Biotechnology is holding KRAYON and the CSI-Chapter of DTU is conducting PHOENIX. A new technical fest is being organized for the first time at DTU, ‘AURORA’ by Department of Applied Physics.
