    Guwahati : Supporters Attack Vehicles At Dabaka,Chakka Bandh turns violent in Assam, Private Vehicles attacked .The 24-hour transport strike called by the All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) on Monday, demanding revision of fare to cope with increasing prices of fuel, has affected normal life in the state as public transport stay off the roads. Bandh supporters, however, took to the roads and attacked private vehicles at Dabaka along with pelting stones at trucks.Police forces were deployed to control the situation.Sporadic incidences of violence were reported from certain parts of the state on Monday following the 24-hour chakka bandh. As per reports, bandh supporters attacked vehicles in Dabaka, Hojai. Protesters also pelted stones on children, as reported. Back in Guwahati, city dwellers had a face a harrowing time due to lack of buses in Adabari, Jalukbari and Maligaon.The 24-hour chakka bandh was jointly called by the India Road Transport Workers Federation and All Assam Transport Workers Association on Monday throwing life out of gear. Only a few government-run buses were available for the passengers. It may be mentioned that the bandh was called against the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices. The association also demanded a government scheme for the non-government transport workers. They also urged the government to stop allowing Uber and Ola to hire new cars in the city.
