External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has criticised Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s comments that Prime Minister Narendra Modi got a woman to defend him on Rafale deal debate in Parliament. In a tweet, Mrs Swaraj said that Mr Gandhi’s comments on Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharamans reply to a debate on a subject relating to Ministry of Defence is a new low in the history of Indian politics.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women took cognisance of the remarks saying it will be sending a notice to the Congress President regarding the statement. NCW chairman Rekha Sharma termed the remark as misogynistic
