Swabhiman Sanghatana, a social organisation headed by Maharashtra industry Minister Narayan Rane s son Nitesh, aims to make it to the Guiness Book of World Records by offering 25,000 jobs to unemployed youth in a single day on October 12 at Kaamgar Maidan in south-central Mumbai.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Mr Nitesh said this would be the world s largest job fair, in which 49 companies have confirmed their participation and agreed to provide jobs.

He said employment is a burning issue in the tier two cities of Maharashtra. The youth who dropped out from school are lagging behind in the rat race of career due to personal reasons.

As a result, political parties are misleading unemployed youth into illegal hawking business or giving them bogus promise of providing railway jobs, he added.

Mr Nitesh said he intends to provide employment to the school dropouts or passed candidates from seventh to twelfth and also onwards.

Through the job fair, he wanted to give a permanent job letter to the unemployed youth instead of bogus and impractical promises made by the political parties, he added.
