Haflong :The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Haflong in collaboration with Blue Hills Society, a Haflong based NGO has launched a six- day awareness program on Swachhata Pakhwada.

The pledge taking ceremony on Swachhata was observed followed by reading of message of the Prime Minister on cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.

The program was held at Disgao Raji Youth Club in presence of Smt Purabi Phonglo, District Information and Public Relations Officer, Haflong, Dima Hasao, as the resource person of the program along with Sri Ringsaw Jidung, President of Disgao Welfare Youth Committee.

The program was presided over by Mr. Thaisringdao Langthasa, President of Blue Hills Society where members of Blue Hills Society and other youths of the locality were present.

Smt. Phonglo, explained and stressed on importance of cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.

Mr. Shringpaidao Jidung, General Secretary, BHS; told the media that Blue Hills Society will be organising a cleanliness & plantation drive followed by door-to-door campaigning in the village on Swachhata, Sri Jidung highlighted the next program schedule of Swachhata Pakhwada.
