    Published on June 24, 2019

In Tamil Nadu, counselling for the admission of students for B.E. and B.Tech. courses will be held from tomorrow. The state Directorate of Technical Education conducts the counselling process this year, which has so far been coordinated by the Anna University. Seats in Government and aided colleges and the Government quota seats in private colleges will be filled through the counselling.

On the first day, differently-abled students will appear for the counselling in person in the Central Polytechnic premises in Chennai. 138 students have been called for admission under the category. It will be followed by the admission of ex-servicemen the next day for which 950 candidates have enrolled themselves.

For the common category students who studied under the non-vocational stream, the counselling begins on the 3rd July and will go on till the 28th July. It will be held only through online mode.

Nearly one lakh thirty-three thousand students have applied for admission through counselling, which is less than the number of available seats. Many private engineering colleges are under tremendous pressure as the number of students opting for an engineering degree is coming down.
