Making a statement in the Rajya Sabha in response to a calling attention notice on the plight of Tamils in Sri Lanka, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said India has stressed on devolution of powers including implementation of the 13th amendment in the broader dialogue process.

India is keen that the aspirations of the Tamil Community in Sri Lanka are met through the national reconciliation process initiated by the Sri Lankan Government.

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid informed Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that New Delhi remains engaged with Colombo to take forward this process in the island nation.

Khurshid added that there is no change in Indian stand on Sri Lanka and New Delhi is committed to ensure that Tamils are not subjected to injustice in the island court.
