TDP activists attempt to prevent its candidate

 Hyderabad (Hindusthan Samachar) : The Telugu Desam Party cadre violently reacted when a newly-joined leader and prominent Backward Class leader R Krishnaiah reached L B Nagar in Hyderabad city to file nomination for L B Nagar assembly constituency.

They attacked his car, which was damaged fully. This incident occurred near Gaddi Annaram municipal office. He was attacked by an adversary to restrain him from filing the nomination for the looming elections.

The L.B. Nagar police meddled in between to resolve the matter. In this incident, he was injured mildly. When Krishnaiah was attacked, both TDP rebel candidate and TRS candidates were present at the spot of incident. However, Krishnaiah filed his nomination papers.

So, it is not yet known that who might have attacked him. L.B. Nagar TDP in charge Krishna Prasad has resigned to his post in protest against offering the party’s ticket to R Krishnaiah. He filed nomination as an independent candidate.

 L B Nagar constituency, located on the outskerts of Hyderabad city is having large number of population migrated from Seemandhra region. Constituency in-charge Krishna Prasad has been working here since last few years with an eye to contest as party candidate.

Another leader, Sama Ranga Reddy, hails from a politically influential family, also working for TDP since a long and aspiring party seat. However, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu with an eye to attract BC voters in Telangana region, who constitutes large number, announced to make a BC leader as its Chief Minister in the state, if the party voted to power.

He also managed to attract R Krishnaiah, who has been fighting for BCs cause since a long, joined TDP very recently. Immediately he was made as Telangana Campaign Committee chairman. Speculations were spread that he will be Chief Minister Candidate for TDP.

In search of safe seat for him, Chandrababu Naidu decided to field him from L B Nagar. This was not digested by powerful party leaders in the constituency Krishna Prasad and Ranga Reddy. Both of them filed nominations as rebel candidates, resigning to the party.
